Referrals are the main way we reach new clients. Our previous relationships and positive experiences are, by far, the most important factor.
Today, we have development contracts with small, disadvantaged businesses focusing on properties located in a variety of communities. Our goal is to enhance our direct community involvement and small business outreach as well as assist established clients with training, support services, capacity building and educational seminars.
Here is just a sampling of some our projects:
Sail River Heights

Sail River Heights is located on the Makah Reservation approximately 2 miles from the center of the village on the 200 Line Road. The site was chosen primarily because of its elevation above the Tsunami zone. Sail River Heights is a 51 acre parcel that has been set aside for housing, Sail River Heights Subdivision. Planning for the Sail River Heights Subdivision began in 2007 with a coordinated effort to involve community residents in a variety of activities to gather input on tribal housing needs, to obtain feedback, and direction on the type of housing the Tribe should consider building to address the express needs of its members. Construction of the first 20-homes will be completed in fall of 2011. The remaining 59-complexes will be built out according to the build-out schedule.
t3ba.’das is a planned neighborhood community of newly constructed homes, and in the Skokomish Tribal native language, it means “our blunt point”. The community will eventually provide homes for more than 200 households and become t

he new residential center of life for the Skokomish Tribe. This project, the construction of 20 homes, represents the first phase of the residential development. The families selected for the project will be tribal members able to take on the financials demands of homeownership. The t3ba.’das subdivision will be built on 380 acres of land owned or acquired by the Tribe. Site design began in December 2005 to develop the infrastructure needed to support this planned neighborhood community. The design was provided by Indian Health Service engineers and design professionals from Cascade Design. The design was completed in June 2006. The building of the water tanks, water treatment facility and water distribution system began in August 2006 and completed in May 2007.
The Youth Emergency Shelter (YES)-North is an 8 bed facility that offers safe and sanitary dwelling for youth in north Snohomish County, Washington. As the single provider of youth emergency shelter facilities in the county, Cocoon house has seen a 34% increase in the number of youth sheltered annually in this area. The facility provides a safe alternative to runaway and homeless youth who often leave the home to escape abuse. Two thirds of the youth served each year have been kicked out of their homes despite having no other place to go. Cocoon House has chosen a foster parent model to provide oversight and supervision at YES-North. The development was completed in 2006.
